HOSPI­TAL trusts across the coun­try col­lected £95 mil­lion in car park­ing charges last year. Judy Beard, the Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port act­ing chief ex­ec­u­tive, said: “Th­ese fig­ures are shock­ing. “Can­cer pa­tients spend hun­dreds of pounds each year on hospi­tal park­ing.” The East Kent Hos­pi­tals NHS Trust recorded the fifth high­est in­come of trusts in the coun­try and the high­est in Kent. The fig­ures for the other Kent trusts were: Med­way, £1,045,272; Maid­stone And Tun­bridge Wells, £704,724; Queen Mary’s Sid­cup, £152,000; Dart­ford And Grave­sham, no fig­ures avail­able.
