Help for firms to cash in on Tour de France
BUSINESSES are being advised to take full advantage of the Tour de France when it comes to Ashford on Sunday, July 8.
The Town Centre Partnership has organised a Tour de France information evening for traders next Wednesday from 5.30pm in St Mary’s parish church.
The Tour de France route will include Ashford town centre, with road closures in operation for much of the day that will cut off access to a large part of the southern edge of town.
However, with thousands of visitors in town, business should be able to benefit.
At the meeting, the county council’s project manager for the event will give an overview on the impact and how traders can take advantage of the day.
On race day, Ashford will be on show to more than 200 million TV viewers worldwide, and thousands of people in the town itself and Ashford Town Centre Partnership wants to make certain the town is open for business to give visitors an experience to remember.
Before the race, the Tour de France Roadshow will be visiting Ashford on Sunday, May 6.
