AN ASHFORD restaurant has reopened with a new look and a big heart, giving money to an orphanage. Wimpy, in Tufton Street, opened its doors again after being closed for three weeks for refurbishment. As a special gesture, staff donated £250 to a orphanage in Vietnam which it now supports. Francis Stileman, who has run the restaurant for 15 years, said: “We feel it is important to do something for underprivileged children. “The orphanage needs £7,000 to keep going for a year, so this is quite a big chunk for them. We hope to keep raising money for the project.” The refurbished restaurant has a no-smoking policy and a new menu. Mr Stileman said: “We are hoping to attract customers who enjoy high quality or speciality coffee, but I want to reassure our regular customers they can still enjoy the full menu of burgers, breakfasts, salads and milkshakes. “We have introduced a no smoking policy for the comfort of all our customers and staff and are confident that this will prove to be a popular decision. We will still have tables and chairs outside where customers are welcome to smoke.”
