MP supports Tourism Week
ASHFORD MP Damian Green visited Ashford International Hotel as part of British Tourism Week.
He saw the work that is under way as part of the £7.5 million investment by owners Qhotels.
Mr Green spent more than an hour with general manager Deirdre Billing, who showed him around the hotel.
She also talked about the hotel’s preparations for the 2012 Olympics.
Deirdre Billing said: “This is a really exciting time for Ashford International hotel and I am so pleased that Damian joined us to have a look at the level of investment we are receiving.”
British Tourism Week aims to raise national awareness of the size, value and importance of Britain’s £74 billion visitor economy.
It also highlights the contribution made by businesses from every part of the UK’s tourism industry, large and small, public and commercial, in maximising future opportunities.
