Burglar: I’m in the wrong house
FURNITURE worth thousands of pounds was stolen from a home in Magazine Road, Ashford, as the owners slept.
One of the occupants was disturbed by a person in their bedroom at 5am, and a second went downstairs at 6am and saw a man moving furniture.
He said he was at the wrong address, left the house and ran up the road towards St Theresa’s Close.
Among the items taken were 10 leather dining room chairs with brown suede patches on the back legs, a cream marble-sided table, a mahogany display stand, and a Sony VAIO laptop computer.
The first burglar was white, 5ft 7in tall and had dark brown hair.
The second was also white, 5ft 6in tall, slim and had short dark brown hair.
It is believed the men could have been loading the furniture into a van.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Thursday.
Det Con Eric Norman said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in Magazine Road between 5am and 6.15am that morning and may have seen these men running from the house.
“In particular, I would like to trace a woman who was waiting for a bus or possibly a lift on the opposite side of the road.”
