Wallet found in spring-clean

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

A WALLET containing bank cards and a photograph was a surprise find for volunteers tidying up Pluckley on Saturday. Two dozen people, the oldest of whom was 90, spent the day giving the village its annual spring-clean before the influx of summer visitors. The operation, which was led by Pluckley Parish Council, saw a mini mountain of rubbish collected from the roadsides, most of it fast food packaging, bottles and cigarette packets. The wallet, which was found in a ditch, was handed to police. Parish clerk Jackie Grebby said: “It was another splendid community effort.”
