Bid for a charity cash donation

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPERATION STACK -

CHARITY groups and organisations are being invited to bid for cash from the South Kent Police Property Fund. Every year, Kent Police gives away around £4,000 from the fund to local groups and charities in the Ashford, Shepway and Dover districts. The fund is made up of the proceeds of unclaimed lost property and unclaimed goods that have been recovered from burglaries and sold at auction. Any charity group that would benefit from a cash donation of about £250 can apply. Applications are sent to a panel, who consider how many people in Kent will benefit from the donation and whether the money will be used for specific projects. Donations to memorial funds, individuals and for paying wages for staff will not be considered.

To apply, write to Ch Supt Steve Harris, Area Commander, South Kent Police, Folkestone Police Station, Bouverie Road West, Folkestone, CT20 2SG, by Friday April 13. Applications should contain the name and address of the organisation, a contact name and number, a brief but informative description of their work and what they will use the money for.
