Five generations at 90th birthday
IT WAS a gathering of the clan when Kate Benn, of High Halden, celebrated her latest milestone with five generations of her family. For Mrs Benn, who celebrated her 90th birthday on Mothering Sunday with a meal at London Beech Golf Club and is preparing for another party trip on the Kent & East Sussex steam railway next week, it provided an historic photo opportunity. Gathered at the home of her daughter Sylvia, at The Chennells, where she now lives, were grandson Shane Clayson, great-grandson Gary Clayson, who until recently was landlord of The Chequers village pub, and his six-week-old twins Bailey and Tyler, who now take her total of great-great-grandchildren to three. She also has 27 grandchildren and 42 greatgrandchildren.
