Help for women to be entrepreneurs

WOMEN have shown that they are often the best at business. The rare breeds centre in Woodchurch was the venue on Saturday for Girls On Top Day 2007, a showcase event for the Romney Enterprise Gateway’s (REG) Go Ahead project. The project aims to encourage and help women who are thinking of working for themselves. So far more than a dozen women-led businesses have been set up as a result of the project. REG is now setting up a new network for businesswomen called Pathways. REG director Jason Martin said: “We knew that the Go Ahead project was going to be a challenge, but we didn’t realise quite how much fun it was also going to be. “Running days like the Girls on Top day have demonstrated to the area’s women that they too have the ability to run their own businesses. “Seeing the smiling faces, the buzz of women networking with one another and the positive feedback has been enormously rewarding.”
