THE search has started for Ashford and Shepway companies who care for the environment, with the launch of the Environment Awards for Kent Business 2007. Peter Raine, Kent County Council’s managing director for regeneration and the environment, said: “Environmental issues are at the top of everyone’s agenda, so there has never been a better time for the many local businesses that have made an extraordinary environmental effort to stand up and be counted. “The Environment Awards for Kent Business need our best environmental achievers to stop being shy about what they do and to come forward for the recognition they so richly deserve.” Local companies, regardless of their size and the business sector in which they operate, are being encouraged to enter to compete for the title.

Deadline for entries is September 5 and full information is available on 01622 221859.
