Forum’s parish ambitions
CENTRAL Ashford Community Forum is holding a public meeting on June 12 in the Furley Hall from 7pm to consider the advantages of becoming an urban parish.
Council officials will be attending for a presentation of the parishing process explaining all the benefits and disadvantages.
There will also be updates on progress on both the Warren Park and Ride scheme and the Ring Road works.
At their last meeting members discussed a number of planning applications in the area and noted that development proposals for the Furley Hall site in Maidstone Road had been withdrawn.
There was also praise for the new sculpture in Queen Mother’s Park at Henwood and highlighted as the kind of project that the Forum could complete itself if it became a parish with its own budget.
