Bags of fun at store’s giveaway
AN ASHFORD supermarket encouraged shoppers to go green by giving away re-usable shopping bags.
Sainsbury’s held a nationwide drive to promote the use of a Bag for Life last Friday.
Duty manager of Sainsbury’s in Simone Weil Avenue, John Bettles, said the company had seven million bags to give away for free, in a bid cut the number of plastic carrier bags being used and protect the environment. A bag for life normally costs 10p.
