We must exercise our right to vote

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

YOUR editorial last week was quite rightly urging the people of Ashford to exercise their vote. You also mention that we should take time to read or hear what the candidates have to say. Unfortunately several years ago the powers that be decided that our home in Boys Hall Road should form part of the South Willesborough Ward, voting in Cudworth Road as opposed to Church Road, Willesborough. Since that date we have received no electoral communications from any of the three main political parties for local elections (very little for the General Election). My wife and I are of the generation that believes that one should make use of the right to the vote. However, we arrive at the polling station with no knowledge of who the candidates are and what they have to offer. L.P. Loughe, Boys Hall Road, Ashford.
