First aiders bat­tle it out to be the best

CUTS, bruises and bro­ken limbs will be at­tended to when an event takes place on The Leas in Folkestone on Satur­day, May 12.

The first aid char­ity, The St John Am­bu­lance, is hold­ing a re­gional com­pe­ti­tion in the town at which about 150 vol­un­teers will take part.

The vol­un­teers will be faced with a range of sce­nar­ios which they might come up against and will show how they would deal with ca­su­al­ties.

The pub­lic are in­vited to watch and are also wel­come to the prize-giv­ing cer­e­mony at the Leas Cliff Hall at 4.30pm.

The day will also in­clude a bal­loon race at 4pm, with prizes for the own­ers of bal­loons which travel the fur­thest, as well as round­abouts, a bouncy cas­tle and stalls.

The event is sup­ported by the South­cliff Ho­tel on The Leas.
