Dutch driver faces death charge

A DUTCH truck driver has ap­peared be­fore mag­is­trates charged with caus­ing the deaths of two Kent pro­ba­tion work­ers by dan­ger­ous driv­ing.

Johnny Vos is ac­cused of caus­ing the deaths of Hazel Croucher and Kerry Sharp, who died on the M20 near Ash­ford on De­cem­ber 21.

The 46-year-old, from Axel, was re­manded in cus­tody af­ter he could not find £25,000 bail.

The case was trans­ferred to Maid­stone Crown Court where it is sched­uled to come be­fore a judge on May 11 for a pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing.

The women, who lived in Dover and Folkestone, were killed in a four-ve­hi­cle crash on the M20 on their way home from a Christ­mas party.
