THE bells of St Peter and St Paul’s church in Newchurch rang out to welcome the Archbishop of Canterbury on Sunday morning. Dr Rowan Williams took the group service that is held every five weeks. The congregation came from New Romney, Old Romney, Ivychurch, Newchurch, Burmarsh, Dymchurch, St Mary’s Bay and St Mary in the Marsh. Following the service, a buffet lunch was served in the church.
