Wo­man taken to hospi­tal with in­juries

DE­SPITE the ex­ten­sive dam­age to many prop­er­ties, only one per­son was re­ported in­jured as a re­sult of the quake.

A wo­man suf­fered slight neck and head in­juries, which were not thought to be se­ri­ous.

She was taken to the William Har­vey Hospi­tal in Ash­ford.

South East Coast Am­bu­lance Ser­vice ini­tially sent five am­bu­lances and three of­fi­cers to the Folkestone area af­ter the first re­ports of the quake were re­ceived.

The ser­vice re­ceived a small num­ber of calls to its con­trol cen­tre but there were no other re­ports of any­one need­ing hospi­tal treat­ment.
