Elvis pictures all shook up but no damage

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - EARTHQUAKE - THE VICTIMS -

A DEDICATED Elvis fan was left shaken up by the tremor.

Elizabeth Elliott of Canterbury Close, just off Canterbury Road, took solace in the fact that her limited edition pictures of the King hanging on the walls weren’t damaged in the quake.

Mrs Elliott said: “I was in the kitchen when suddenly the whole house really shook. I thought ‘What the hell was that?’

“I ran upstairs, thinking something had fallen off the walls.

“The kids rushed out, saying ‘What’s going on mum?’ We came outside.”

The mother-of-three’s home sustained only a few cracks. She said: “It was quite an experience – after all, you don’t expect your whole house to shake. I’m an Elvis fan and I’m just pleased my pictures were not broken.”

Canterbury Road residents Elizabeth and Ian Elliott forced outside after the quake, with neighbours Simone Bentley and Antonio DaSales
