Insurer on scene to reassure customers
INSURANCE giant Halifax had a team on the scene of Saturday’s earthquake hours after it happened.
Tim Downes, operations manager for the South East, said: “This was a frightening event for our customers and we have to make sure they are fully supported.
“The policy does give full cover for earthquake damage, and if our customers suffer damage we are here to help them get back on their feet. The majority of the damage was to roofs, brickwork and masonry.”
Mr Downes said that by late Saturday morning, the company had become aware of 25 damaged properties at the bottom of Black Bull Road.
