Pos­i­tive staff help firm win award

CON­STRUC­TION com­pany Blue­stone, which has of­fices in Sta­tion Road, Ash­ford, is cel­e­brat­ing af­ter achiev­ing an In­vestors In Peo­ple award.

The na­tional award recog­nises or­gan­i­sa­tions that im­prove their per­for­mance through good man­age­ment and de­vel­op­ment of their em­ploy­ees.

Area man­ager Danny Laing, pic­tured, said: “This award is a great trib­ute to the hard work by ev­ery mem­ber of staff and their ef­forts to drive our busi­ness for­ward.

“Thanks to the pos­i­tive feed­back from our em­ploy­ees, the as­ses­sors were im­pressed with our com­mit­ment to peo­ple and the pro­cesses in place to en­sure they are com­mu­ni­cated with and feel part of the busi­ness plan­ning and de­ci­sion-mak­ing process.

“They have also made sug­ges­tions as to how we can con­tinue to im­prove our per­for­mance and we plan to im­ple­ment th­ese sug­ges­tions through­out the com­ing year.”

Key projects for Blue­stone’s Ash­ford of­fice in­clude a £3.9 mil­lion ex­ten­sion to the Whit­field and As­pen School in Dover, an £800,000 ex­ten­sion to Monk­ton Pri­mary School in Rams­gate, and a £350,000 ex­ten­sion to one of the old­est schools in Eng­land, Sed­ley’s Pri­mary School in South­fleet.
