Bees keep visitors busy too

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - FRONT PAGE -

THE bees were indeed busy for visitors to an open day in Cheeseman’s Green. The Ashford Beekeepers opened their garden gate and welcomed curious visitors to watch these fascinating insects in action. With bumper blossom displays and fields of oil seed rape to forage, the bees were seen collecting nectar and pollen. Experienced members chatted to visitors, including some youngsters, who wanted to know more about the pastime, providing protective clothing if they asked to get closer. The next meeting will be at Ruckinge village hall on Saturday, June 2, from 10am until 4pm.
