Dancers get into spirit of fund-raising
A NUMBER of charities received donations from the Spirit of the South Country and Western Dance Club at the Towers School in Ashford.
Club organiser Justine Brown of New Romney said they had raised a record total of £1,536 this year, which would be shared between several charities.
They are the Kent Air Ambulance, the Tomar Owl Sanctuary, the Padua Ward at the William Harvey Hospital, New Romney Counselling Service for the proposed mobile unit, the Last Chance animal rescue centre in New Romney, the Pilgrims Hospice and the New Romney Country Fayre fund. Blind bowler Scott Valance from Norfolk also received a donation. The country and western music enthusiast’s dream is to represent England at bowls.
