A 45-YEAR-OLD carpenter died while working at a building site.

A post mortem examination has shown that Mark Cooper, of Marsh Road, Ruckinge, suffered a heart attack.

Mr Cooper was hanging doors at the new Folkestone Academy, off Park Farm Road in Folkestone last Thursday.

The Kent Air Ambulance attended but medics could not save him.

It was Mr Cooper’s first day back at work after a two-week holiday in Kenya, where he had suffered breath- ing problems, but didn’t think much of them.

His partner of 18 years, Ivy Stock, said: “This has come as a terrible shock.

“He was a wonderful man and I loved him.

“He was tall, dark and handsome. I will miss him very much.”

His father Derek Cooper, who lives near Sittingbourne, said the whole family was in shock.

He said: “He was strong lad, very kind, courteous and a very private person. He was a lovely man.”

A funeral will be held next Thursday.
