Miss Kent is nursing a new ambition
SAMANTHA Rowles (above) may have collected another coveted title that many feel could lead her into showbiz, but the teenager is still determined to forge a career as a midwife. As Miss Ashford in 2005 she led the carnival procession and represented the town at numerous parades throughout the county. Now Samantha, 17, of Park Farm in Ashford, has been named as Miss Kent in the competition held in Dover. That qualifies her to be a member of the Team England group that will contest for the Miss Euro Region title to be held in Folkestone in October. The teenager, who lives with her mother Val in Bryony Drive, is a student at South Kent College working for her national diploma in health services. When that is completed she plans to work as a carer at the William Harvey Hospital before taking up her place on a two-year midwifery course in 2009.
