Join the race to see Le Tour
FOLKESTONE Racecourse is throwing open its gates from July 5 to 8, for those who want to watch the Tour De France cycle race.
Competitors will be racing along Stone Street during the Kent leg of the event and the racecourse will offer prime views.
Spectators can camp at the racecourse from Thursday, July 5, until Sunday, July 8, the day the cyclists will go through Kent to finish in Canterbury.
The 2007 stage one route begins just after 8.30am in London and goes through Westminster, Greenwich, Woolwich, Erith, Dartford and Gravesend.
It then goes through Medway, Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Tenterden, Ashford and Stone Street, right past Folkestone Racecourse, and finally into Canterbury for the finish at about 2.15pm.
Organisers anticipate more than three million people will line the streets to enjoy the first leg of the Tour.
The cost for a pitch at the racecourse will be between £18 and £25.
