Drivers must obey the speed limit

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

ANOTHER private tragedy has occurred on what should be a quiet semi-rural village road near Ashford, with the sad death of a beloved family cat that was hit by a car. This pet’s loss again draws our attention here to crazy driving habits and the periodically heavy volume of traffic passing through Wye Road, Boughton Lees, with its use as a “rat-run” between the A28, Canterbury Road and the A251, Faversham Road, by cars speeding in volume through our village. May I draw this to the attention of readers and drivers as well as of the authorities, who could help avert a human tragedy looming here, unless traffic limits, of speed in particular, are observed more often and enforced properly. People who are not pet lovers may shrug their shoulders but I am sure that unless driver behaviour improves, a human tragedy portends.
