Players brave the wet to make splash for charity
A CHARITY football match went ahead in Ashford on Sunday despite a rather soggy pitch. AMF Bowling held a match at the Ashford Town Football Club to raise money for the Kent Air Ambulance. Organiser Paul White said: “It was a bit boggy but it made the game a little more interesting. “It was quite comical because the pitch was so waterlogged everyone was falling down in it.” Some 26 players helped raise more than £600. The green team won the match 7-5.
