Archers get into Agincourt spirit

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

A DAY of traditional archery took place in the grounds of Godinton House on Saturday. Members of the public were invited to have a go at firing the longbow by the Fraternity of St George, whose members keep the spirit of Agincourt alive by holding regular shoots. Nick Sandford, manager of Godinton House, said: “The aim was to encourage people who have never done it before to have a go. “The targets are marks on the ground which are heraldic symbols dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries.” Sessions were held throughout the afternoon.
