Wildlife prizes go un­der the ham­mer

A HOST of rare and un­usual prizes will be go­ing un­der the ham­mer at a din­ner and auc­tion in aid of Kent Wildlife Trust. The black tie event will be held on Satur­day, June 9, at the Hil­ton Ho­tel in Maid­stone, where guests will en­joy a meal with wine be­fore a talk by wildlife ex­pert John McAl­lis­ter. Auc­tion­eer Mike Bax will take bids for lots such as a seal-watch­ing cruise, 20 ki­los of or­ganic beef, the chance to be a na­ture re­serve war­den for the day and a botan­i­cal sur­vey of your gar­den. Chair­man of Kent Wildlife Trust Fi­delity We­ston said: “This is the first in a se­ries of fun fundrais­ing events this year to help the Trust in its quest to make the Gar­den of Eng­land a bet­ter place for both wildlife and peo­ple.” Places are lim­ited and a min­i­mum do­na­tion of £49 per per­son is re­quired.
