A STALWART of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has been praised for the thousands of pounds he has raised for the charity. Chairman of the Ashford branch Robin Gray has been awarded a silver medal to mark his contribution to the branch and the many fundraising activities he has been involved in. Branch spokesman Don Salmon said: “Robin’s involvement stretches over 15 years and he has held the position of chairman. “He is a very popular and committed member and has organised all the fundraising activities from street collections to house and supermarket collections.” The Ashford branch has already raised £300 this year through a collection at Asda. If you are interested in fundraising for the RNLI, contact Don Salmon on 01233 841929.
