Kentish Express Ashford & District - - RECRUITMENT & BUSINESS FOR THE VERY LATEST JOBS AN -

After a long career with well-known Ashford retailer Geerings, Philip Carter and his wife Pauline invested their life savings and remortgaged their home to buy Clouds in Ashford High Street and develop it into the Hallmark Clouds card and gift shop. They then expanded by opening the China Place gift outlet at the McArthurGlen designer outlet store and have since doubled the size of the store while remaining the only family firm on the site. Meanwhile, the couple and son Daryl have also set up a promotional goods company – Promotional ID. With Daryl and Pauline now taking on the day-to-day responsibilities of running the existing businesses, Mr Carter is looking forward to the challenge of helping other people solve some of the problems he has faced over the past years. “My experience will clearly help, but Icon also has a number of unique business tools that can be used to tackle issues that face so many small businesses these days. “At the end of the day Icon is about helping business owners work on their business rather than in it, and about helping them to get what they want out of it, whether that is more money, more time to themselves or some other goal.” He is running his first seminar, in conjunction with The Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, on Tuesday, June 5 at Eastwell Manor, Ashford, from 7.30am to 10am.
