Jail for man who said prison a playground
A MAN who told police that prison was a playground and magistrates were a joke, has been jailed for almost three months.
Michael McKeane, 23, of no fixed abode, appeared at Ashford Magistrates Court where he admitted using threatening and insulting words and behaviour when an incident broke out in Milton Road, Ashford, on April 10.
The court heard how McKeane became aggressive after an argument with his family and was shouting and swearing.
Peter Holt, prosecuting, said: “At one point he said he had a knife and was restrained by police.
“He said he didn’t mind going back to prison because ‘it’s like a play school’. He said the magistrates are a joke, wouldn’t do anything and that he wouldn’t go to prison for this.”
He was sentenced to serve 80 days in custody.
