Intimidation for sticking to limit

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

IN DECEMBER last year my husband was fined for speeding when avoiding a collision with someone driving badly in Bad Munstereifel Road, Ashford, when approaching the junction 10 roundabout. After 54 years of driving with a clean licence, he had to pay and receive points on his licence. Despite the circumstances, he was guilty. Since that time, he is most conscious of his speed. And I must say that the amount of intimidation received on this same road from drivers (mostly van drivers) is unbearable – because he insists on driving within the 30mph limit where ordered to do so. It ranges from waving fists, verbal insults and hooters fullblast whilst speeding past, to tail-gating. I would advise the authorities to get down there quickly, and they could nab a few more to swell the coffers. And at the same time give a bit of protection to those observing the speed limit. Alex Smith, Peregrine Close, Hythe.
