M20 Junction 10 roadworks

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

I use this roundabout almost every day and I’ve been amazed at how easy it is to get round now that there are no lights, especially at peak times on the weekend, it’s brilliant. Even though it’s at the end of my road, I had stopped using it except when essential and used junction 9, which is the long way round. It would be very poor traffic management to put the lights back, stupidity in fact. Phoebe Ashworth, Ashford.

Having used the junction over the years, I have found it works a lot better without the lights. Also, it will save money – no lights, no electricity being used, works out cheaper in the long run. Also, better movement of traffic means that ambulances using it will have an easier run through to the William Harvey hospital. Chris Burgess, Tenterden.

Since the removal of the traffic lights, Junction 10 has been better than it ever was. I’d say that nine times out of 10 you can pass through the junction swiftly. With the lights, it was two times out of 10! Julie Miller, Hythe.

Please consider keeping the traffic lights inactive. At least to see how the new finished construction of Junction 10 copes without them. Jon Budd, Ashford.

We can all drive sensibly without the lights telling us when to go. We do have brains. Jane Humphrey, Ashford.

Junction 10 works a lot better without the lights. This is helping the environment in a small way as the traffic isn’t sitting around with engines running. Ann Burgess, Tenterden.
