A COM­BINED rail-bus ticket has been launched for a se­ries of des­ti­na­tions across Kent and Sus­sex. Called PlusBus, the new dis­count ticket is run in Kent by rail op­er­a­tor South­east­ern and bus group Stage­coach, and is avail­able na­tion­ally in more than 195 towns and cities. The scheme al­lows pas­sen­gers to add un­lim­ited bus travel in cer­tain towns to their train tick­ets. The Plusbus can be added to most types of ticket, in­clud­ing sin­gles, day re­turns, pe­riod re­turns and sea­son tick­ets and bus travel can be ar­ranged for the start, fin­ish or both parts of the jour­ney. It can be pur­chased from ticket of­fices, some self-ser­vice ma­chines, by tele­phone and travel agents. In Kent, the new Plusbus des­ti­na­tions and rail ticket price sup­ple­ments are banded over seven days, one month, or one day.
