Davison deserved better than this

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - OPINION -

PARTY issues can sometimes work against the public interest. I was both surprised and disappointed to read (May 24) that Cllr Davison had been “booted out as a council delegate” on the Julie Rose Stadium management company by the selection and recess committee of the borough council. Cllr Davison has worked very hard over the past few years as chairman of the board and I doubt if anyone would deny that the stadium is in a stronger position than it was when he became chairman. The general community has reason to be grateful for his leadership and expertise. As a former councillor, I was not always in agreement with Peter Davison but I believe, as I am sure your readers believe, that there needs to be more emphasis on fair play and impartial judgement and less emphasis on myopic party politics.
