Preparation for panto takes root
THE founders of a new theatre company have 55 years of experience between them in directing, producing and acting. It is called the Folkestone Community Theatre Project and will be run by Bob Osbourne, of the Folkestone and Hythe Operatic and Dramatic Society and Neil Hunnisett, who has been behind semi-professional pantomimes which have been presented at the Leas Cliff Hall. The pair have got together to organise a Christmas panto at the hall – the family favourite Jack and the Beanstalk. The show will invite 75 children to be part of the fun and adults will be able to audition for principal and minor parts. Leas Cliff Hall general manager Stephen Levine said: “It has long been my aim to give Folkestone a Christmas pantomime to be proud of and I am very pleased to be welcoming old friends to take over this crucial spot in the venue’s diary.
“We are all looking forward to presenting a terrific show, which we hope will become an event the whole of Folkestone will get behind.” For audition details phone producer Neil Hunnisett on 07816 424214. Tickets have already gone on sale, so to get the best seats in the house call the Leas Cliff Hall box office on 0870 4000 890.
