Prepa­ra­tion for panto takes root

THE founders of a new theatre com­pany have 55 years of ex­pe­ri­ence be­tween them in di­rect­ing, pro­duc­ing and act­ing. It is called the Folkestone Com­mu­nity Theatre Project and will be run by Bob Os­bourne, of the Folkestone and Hythe Op­er­atic and Dra­matic So­ci­ety and Neil Hun­nisett, who has been be­hind semi-pro­fes­sional pan­tomimes which have been pre­sented at the Leas Cliff Hall. The pair have got to­gether to or­gan­ise a Christ­mas panto at the hall – the fam­ily favourite Jack and the Beanstalk. The show will in­vite 75 chil­dren to be part of the fun and adults will be able to au­di­tion for prin­ci­pal and mi­nor parts. Leas Cliff Hall gen­eral man­ager Stephen Levine said: “It has long been my aim to give Folkestone a Christ­mas pan­tomime to be proud of and I am very pleased to be wel­com­ing old friends to take over this cru­cial spot in the venue’s diary.
