Classical sounds from recorder
MUSIC lovers are in for a rich array of different styles of recorder music when the Constance Recorder Quartet from Birmingham Conservatoire performs in Folkestone on Saturday, June 9. The concert, at Folkestone United Reformed Church and Community Centre in Radnor Park, will include medieval, renaissance (Dufay and Dowland) and baroque (Telemann and Mattheson) played on copies of original instruments. There will also be Japanese music, a quintet by Geoffrey Winters, a take-off of Mozart, some Gershwin and other jazz. The programme starts at 7.30pm with tickets payable at the door, costing £5. School children go free.
