Ladies’ Day promises plenty of top action
WOMEN can get a headstart this Saturday by donning their fashion hats for a spot of fun on Ladies’ Day at Folkestone Racecourse. The special day on the course’s racing calendar enables spectators to take in the thrill of the horses thundering by while enjoying a Pimm’s, wine or beer. The term Ladies’ Day originates from Royal Ascot, a week of racing at Ascot Racecourse attended by the Queen. Racecourses all over the country hold their own Ladies’ Days, often scheduled to tie in with larger racing events. Folkestone Racecourse is holding its to coincide with the Epsom Derby. Three of Folkestone’s own six races will be shown live on Channel 4. Gates at the course open at 12.05pm with the first race starting at 2.05pm.
