FOOD, glorious food will be provided by the Friends of Folkestone Sports Centre Trust for the KM Big Quiz night.

A team of six hard-working volunteers led by chairman Ann Berry will be providing a light supper for the hundreds of guests expected at the event on Saturday, October 26.

Mrs Berry has done the catering before at numerous church functions, but never on such a grand scale as the Big Quiz, yet she is looking forward to it.

She said: “It’s a big number and a big challenge, but I am confident we will do well as I am surrounded by such a good team.”

Mrs Berry and her helpers plan to set up the tables at lunchtime and work right up until the quiz begins, putting the food out just as guests arrive for the 7pm start.

In return for providing food, the Friends will get a slice of the proceeds from the Big Quiz, which they are putting towards buying a minibus for the sports centre.

Proceeds raised on the night will also be shared between children’s road safety charity KM Walk to School and south Kent organisation Find a Voice. The civic charities of Ashford and Shepway boroughs will also benefit.

The cost for a table of eight people is £56, which is £7 per person and includes a ploughman’s meal and a complementary glass of wine. Teams can book online at www.kmbigquiz.co.uk or by cutting out the form below.

Other sponsors of the KM Big Quiz are County Square shopping centre, P&O Ferries and Shepherd Neame who will organise the charity Spitfire bar.
