Ef­forts for char­ity were leg­endary

MANY are mourn­ing the death of Jackie Par­rett, pic­tured, who died peace­fully at home last week af­ter a long and coura­geous bat­tle with can­cer.

With her hus­band Tur­rloo, she was best known for run­ning and de­vel­op­ing East­well Manor at Boughton Aluph into one of Kent’s premier ho­tels.

She leaves three chil­dren Gary, Mark and He­lenne, and was grand­mother to Sean, Ge­orge, So­phie, Oliver, Emma, Jasper and Mer­lin.

Her ef­forts for many char­i­ties were leg­endary with a spe­cial place re­served for Demelza House chil­dren’s hospice and Macmil­lan Can­cer Care.

She also shared her hus­band’s pas­sion for horse racing and was a reg­u­lar at his side at Folke­stone race­course and oth­ers across the south.

Her fu­neral will be held at All Saints Church, Boughton Aluph on Fri­day Oc­to­ber 10, at 2.30pm.

Fu­neral ar­range­ments are be­ing made by Doves of Ash­ford.
