Kentish Express Ashford & District - - News -

A HUGE turnout is expected for the final service at South Willesborough Methodist Church in Cudworth Road on Sunday.

Opened in 1888, it used to boast the largest Sunday school in Kent with 200 children, but over the years the congregation has dwindled until now only a handful of worshippers attend regularly.

The service at 3pm will be led by Supt Minister the Rev Richard Grocott and one person hoping to be present is church steward Elsie Wood, 84, who has been attending services at the church for 78 years.

A report on the final service will be in next week’s edition.
