Party time as Gurkha fes­ti­val gets un­der way

MORE than 600 peo­ple gath­ered at the Tow­ers School on Satur­day to cel­e­brate the Gurkha fes­ti­val, Dashain. Dashain is a Nepalese na­tional hol­i­day last­ing 15 days, and the party fea­tured many tra­di­tional songs and dances. Shree Limbu, one of the or­gan­is­ers, ex­plained: “Dashain is the Gurkha equiv­a­lent of Christ­mas. “It was a great party with a bril­liant at­mos­phere. Every­one had a good time.”
