Sub-postmaster wanted to run Kennington branch

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Opinion -

FEARS over the future of services in Kennington have been dismissed by Post Office chiefs.

When the branch in Faversham Road suddenly closed in August residents were concerned it may never reopen.

But in a statement this week Post Office Ltd called for anyone interested in running the service to apply urgently.

It said it had to be closed temporarily due to the resignation of the previous sub-postmaster.

A Post Office spokesman said: “We understand that the people of Kennington will be concerned about the future of services in their area.

“This provision in the local community is important to us and we will continue to work hard to restore a facility as soon as possible. Unfortunately our efforts have so far failed.”

They have apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers and hope anyone interested applies as soon as possible.

Applications should be made to Agency Recruitment, Freepost NWW 1675A, Salford, Manchester M59JB.
