Walkers step out for a good cause

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Opinion -

SIXTEEN walkers took part in the first Stroll for Stroke around Charing on Saturday – raising cash to help stroke victims. Organiser Claire Eckley hopes that once all the donations and sponsorship are received and they claim gift aid they will have raised £2,000 for The Stroke Association to help survivors, family and carers all over Kent. A number of the walkers were stroke survivors, and the 5.5 mile Lost Landscapes Heritage Trail to Charing Heath through open countryside and woods was challenging but enjoyable. All volunteers have been thanked as have the Public Rights of Way Officers for carrying out works on the route in the run-up to what the charity hopes will become an annual event.
