Top prize for Ellie in rap competition
A 12-YEAR-OLD girl took a star turn when she won top solo artist prize in a rap competition.
Ellie Bright came first in the contest in Ashford on Saturday, which was just one of many events marking Black History Month in the county.
The second solo prize was won by Jordan Curtis.
Two duos also impressed the judges in the groups category.
Stacey and Ashima, both 14, won first prize and 18-year-olds Havoc and Lootz were named as runners-up.
The contest, which took place at Christ Church Hall in Beaver Road, attracted 36 participants.
The competition was sponsored by Addie’s Zimbabwean Anointed Community Youth Association (AZACYA) along with Blade Entertainment and Kent Youth Opportunities.

It’s the turn of Main Event to impress the judges at the rap contest
