Top prize for El­lie in rap com­pe­ti­tion

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl took a star turn when she won top solo artist prize in a rap com­pe­ti­tion.

El­lie Bright came first in the con­test in Ash­ford on Satur­day, which was just one of many events mark­ing Black His­tory Month in the county.

The sec­ond solo prize was won by Jor­dan Cur­tis.

Two duos also im­pressed the judges in the groups cat­e­gory.

Stacey and Ashima, both 14, won first prize and 18-year-olds Havoc and Lootz were named as run­ners-up.

The con­test, which took place at Christ Church Hall in Beaver Road, at­tracted 36 par­tic­i­pants.

The com­pe­ti­tion was spon­sored by Ad­die’s Zim­bab­wean Anointed Com­mu­nity Youth As­so­ci­a­tion (AZACYA) along with Blade En­ter­tain­ment and Kent Youth Op­por­tu­ni­ties.
