Honours even in tense game

Canterbury Ladies 12, Ashford Ladies 12 BOTH sides played well in a tense encounter with honours finishing even.

Being their first league game of the season, both sides were anxious to make a good impression and the first half was evenly fought, Canterbury leading 12-5 with Alison Holness scoring a fine try in the corner.

Ashford stepped up their game in the second half but were undone by their own mistakes.

Finally though, Sarah Glasspool went over and Kendall converted to level the scores at 12-12.

The last few minutes saw both sides going for the winning score but it was not to be.

Three girls made their debuts for Ashford and Charlotte, Lucy and Hayley were magnificent among their hard-working team-mates.

Players are always needed and training takes place on Thursdays at 7.15pm. All are welcome whether new to the game or an experienced player.
