Flowers left at the scene where motorcyclist died
A MOTORCYCLIST died after coming off his bike, despite efforts by a member of the public to resuscitate him.
Police are now appealing for witnesses following the fatal accident on Saturday evening.
Just before 8.55pm a motorcy- clist was travelling down Charing Hill from Challock in the direction of Maidstone, when his machine struck the kerb and hit a fence just before the junction with Pilgrims Way.
The rider came off the bike and sustained fatal injuries.
A member of the public tried to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been identified only as a 38-year-old Chilham man.
An inquest is likely to be opened today or tomorrow when he will be named.
Floral tributes have been left at the scene by family and friends.
