School farm land is not for sale

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Opinion -

I AM writing to clarify the extensive and inaccurate coverage printed in last week’s Kentish Express about the alleged closure of North School Farm. The farm is safe. We are not selling the land it uses. The facts were clearly explained and I was therefore disappointed to see front page coverage, with the story carried further on page three. Using terms like ‘bombshell’ did little to lessen the tone of the piece which was simply wrong. I shall repeat and explain again, the North School Farm is safe and there are no plans to sell the land it uses. I cannot simplify or clarify this story any further and I sincerely hope that such exposure is not granted again to a story which is wrong in its entirety. The inaccuracies have caused distress and concern and I hope we can draw a line under this unfortunate report and move on. Grahame Ward, Kent County Council Director of Resources, County Hall, Maidstone.
