THE Folke­stone and District Snooker League held it’s 2007/ 08 sea­son pre­sen­ta­tion evening at the East Cliff Pavil­ion, with a plethora of ti­tles be­ing awarded .

R. Marie, P. Lawrence, J. Rose, P. Baker, P. Lay­ton and S. Tay­lor were pre­sented with their Divi­sion 1 ti­tle, as the Hythe Hur­ri­canes (M. Lan­away, H. Lit­tle­john, J. Allen, S. Page, L. Gif­ford and J. Ni­cholls) col­lected their run­ners-up prize.

Hythe Hur­ri­canes made up for their league dis­ap­point­ment by dom­i­nat­ing the First Divi­sion dou­bles com­pe­ti­tion. Mark Lan­away and Ste­wart Page won the event, ahead of club mates Howard Lit­tle­john and Lee Gif­ford.

Matt Mor­gan, of Ri­ley’s Elite, re­ceived the Divi­sion 1 award for high­est break (73); claimed the Divi­sion 1 Sin­gles ti­tle with a win over team-mate Adrian Cow­ell; won the Re­gent Elec­tri­cal Sin­gles, beat­ing Howard Lit­tle­john in the fi­nal, and won the John Lea Memo­rial Plate Sin­gles af­ter beat­ing Derek Smith (Folke­stone Hil­ton C).

NRB Club A (D. Lid­gett, M. Dewey, T. Ouz­man, T. Knight, J. McMil­lian, M. Telford) won the Divi­sion 2 crown, ahead of Hythe Con­ser­va­tives (D. Stocker, B. Durkan, D. Green­street, M. Wad­more, P. Wil­liams).

There was a re­ver­sal of for­tunes in the Den­nis Bradley Plate, as Hythe Con­ser­va­tives beat NRB Club to the ti­tle. NRB’s Trevor Knight took the divi­sion’s high­est break ac­co­lade with a 44.

NRB Club A en­joyed fur­ther in­di­vid­ual suc­cess as Malcolm Dewey won the Lee Rush­worth Sin­gles by de­feat­ing Hythe Con­ser­va­tive’s Bob Durkan, and fin­ished sec­ond to Brian James (Foco A) in the Vet­eran’s Sin­gles. Malcolm Dewey, along­side Tom Ouz­man, also won the Sec­ond Divi­sion Dou­bles, de­feat­ing club mates Trevor Knight and Jim McMil­lian in the fi­nal.

NRB Club B, through the ef­forts of Peter El­liott, won the Divi­sion 2 Sin­gles ahead of Bob Durkan.

The Bunny Telling win­ners were Ri­ley’s Elite (A. Cow­ell, N. Mark­well, A. Mor­ris, F. God­den, P. Be­van, M. Mor­gan) Salt­wood (B. Wire, R. Sylvester, A. Wire, D. Terry, M. Med­wyn, R. Twynn, R. Hall) fin­ished as run­ners-up.

Ri­ley’s were also tri­umphant in the First Divi­sion KO Cup, but it was the Ri­ley’s Rock­ets who took the crown ahead of the Elite side.

Folke­stone Hil­ton C (D. Oram, D. Smith, G. Mahon, A. Rose, D. Piper, T. Lee) claimed the Divi­sion Two equiv­a­lent, beat­ing Club Q (C. James, G. Fowle, A. King, S. Horner, T. Smyth, M. Clif­ford, B. Hut­ton) in the fi­nal.

Tim Allen and Steve Hawkins (Ri­ley’s Rock­ets) won the Adrian Cow­ell Dou­bles K O Cup af­ter de­feat­ing Dar­ren Stocker and Martin Wad­more (Hythe Con­ser­va­tives). Trevor Mun­nery and Dave Hal­lett (Folke­stone Hil­ton A) took the Tom Scan­nell Dou­bles Plate with victory over Alex Swat­ton and Daryl Mas­ters (Ri­ley’s Rock­ets).

Scott Mitchell (Ri­ley’s Cru­saders) won the Pil­grims Hospice Sin­gles with victory over Ste­wart Page.

Richard Knight and Adrian Cow­ell se­cured the In­vi­ta­tion Dou­bles by de­feat­ing Nigel Billing­shurst and Alex Swat­ton. Tom Ouz­man was Sports­man of the Year and Al­ric Rose was voted as most im­proved player.
